Full Description:
Since social media use typically happens off school grounds, it can be tricky for teachers and administrators to know when and how to intervene. Attendees will learn how to create and enforce a lawful social media policy, requirements for monitoring and maintaining school sponsored websites, appropriate use of social media in hiring, and when and how to respond to online impersonators, and harassment and bullying of students and staff.

Trisha Vais is the Founding, Executive Director of Trivium Charter School, a Personalized Learning Program located in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo County. Trivium serves 700 K-12 students in a hybrid format with a focus on history and science education while promoting critical thinking skills. Trisha has 4 children, 4 cats, 3 dogs, and 1 husband :)
