At CharterSAFE, our mission is to help our member schools maintain a strong understanding of school exposures and risk mitigation. We believe that providing a safe and secure environment promotes a focus on teaching, learning, and student outcomes. CharterSAFE was created by California charter school leaders in 2004 to provide affordable insurance and risk management expertise for charter schools.

CharterSAFE, a non-profit self-insured risk pool, provides its liability, property, and workers’ compensation program to over 850 charter school locations in California and continues to grow its membership each year, insuring a range of charter schools from new developing schools to Charter Management Organizations (CMOs).

California Charter Schools Association (CCSA) Advocates is the political and advocacy companion organization to CCSA. CCSA Advocates is committed to building and sustaining a favorable political environment for charter school authorization and operation in California.
