Educators Thriving

Laura leads partnerships at Educators Thriving. She also serves as a coach and consultant to values-aligned leaders and organizations alongside Dan Mulhern and Mariana De Carvalho. Prior to consulting, Laura supported districts implementing new coaching technology and grew partnerships as Education Manager at the Mission Promise Neighborhood. She started her career as a Spanish immersion kindergarten teacher in San Francisco and cannot believe those students now drive. On the weekends you can find Laura hiking in the Bay Area with her spouse and baby.

Tyler Hester
Founder, Director
Educators Thriving

Tyler is the founder and facilitator of Educators Thriving. Early in his career, Tyler worked at the U.S. Department of Education and, during the 2008 presidential campaign, on then-Senator Obama’s education policy committee. Convinced that educational inequity is the civil rights issue of our generation, he became a teacher in 2008. Later, Tyler went on to lead Teach For America in Richmond, California. In 2020, he completed a Doctorate in Education Leadership at Harvard University. In addition to leading Educators Thriving, he is the Vice Principal of a school in Richmond.
