All Rise! Teaching Economics Through Mock Trial!

All Rise! Participants will learn how to teach Economics concepts through the Mock Trial of Sam Bankman Fried! This presentation will demonstrate how to conduct a Mock Trial in the classroom, explore the cryptocurrency industry with a focus on the FTX collapse, and integrate economics concepts. Participants will earn to conduct a classroom mock trial, augment critical analysis skills by evaluating fraud charges, and enhance economics and financial literacy knowledge by discussing cryptocurrency, investments, and fiduciary duty.

Spencer Burrows serves on the Board of Directors of TEACH Public Schools in South Los Angeles, and is also an Economics teacher and the 11th Grade Dean at Pacific Ridge School in Carlsbad, California. He is a Teach Plus and Coro Lead LA alumnus, and serves as Education Adjunct Faculty at National University and Business Adjunct Faculty at San Diego University For Integrative Studies. He earned his B.A. from UCLA, and J.D. from UC Hastings College of the Law.
