Who Ya Gonna Call? GAP BUSTERS!
Springs was recognized in the 2023 Credo Report as a "gap-busting" school network, one of 32 California Charter School networks closing the achievement gaps for students! At Springs, we built collaborative teams to identify high-yield practices, establish schoolwide initiatives around those practices, and support implementation through a mentoring and monitoring process. These initiatives address Tier 1-3 with strategies and resources for first best instruction and interventions. Attendees will learn about Springs’ journey to increase student achievement and leave with steps to start the process in their schools.

Dr. Kathleen Hermsmeyer founded California’s largest County-wide benefit charter school, River Springs, in 2005 and has served as the Superintendent of this charter, along with seven other charters serving in total over 10,000 students. She has worked in education for over 32 years both in inner-city public schools and international schools. Kathleen is the representative for non-classroom based charters in Southern California. She is passionate about preparing students to enter the changing global community through flexible, personalized learning, real-world applications and rigorous mastery-based instruction.

Vivian Price, Ed.D, Assistant Superintendent of Education Vivian Price is the Assistant Superintendent of Education for Springs Charter Schools, a network of charter schools in Southern California serving over 10,000 students. Vivian and her team support the development of innovative educational programs including a virtual academy, a school on an airport, and many hybrid models. All programs provide personalized learning for every student.
