Pre-Con Deep Dive Workshop Local Control and Accountability Plan

Deep-Dive workshops are 5-hour pre-conference workshops on Monday March 18 that allow for long-format conversations and programming. These are only open to CCSA members. Because space is limited, advanced sign-ups are required. Tickets are $75 and include lunch.

This informative and intensive 3½ hour workshop will focus on the key areas of the LCAP template including the following:

  • Newly State Board of Education (SBE) approved LCAP template
  • Conducting Needs Assessment
  • New requirements: LCAP required Goals
  • CDE required metrics including UP and LtEL
  • Goal Analysis – what needs to be included in each prompt?
  • Increased & Improved Services: What is each prompt specifically asking?
  • Action Tables; and Budget Overview for Parents (BOP)
  • Who approves the LCAP for Charter Schools?
  • Common mistakes found in LCAPs
  • Understanding the 2023 CA School Dashboard State Indicators & Performance Levels
  • New criteria used to identify charter schools for Differentiated Assistance – and what are those additional LCAP requirements?
This workshop will provide attendees with insight on the LCAP requirements as it applies to charter schools using simplified language, providing examples, and an easy-to-use checklist.

She has successfully written over $29M in grants for her clients.

Larry Tamayo

Larry Tamayo leads the San Diego office, having joined ExED in 2002. In addition to his supervisory role, he also oversees the business operations for charter school clients, in San Diego and Orange County. Prior to leading ExED’s San Diego office, Mr. Tamayo was the School Development Coordinator and a Compliance Analyst in ExED’s Los Angeles office. Larry holds a master’s degree in public policy from UCLA and a bachelor’s degree in criminology, law and society at the University of California, Irvine.
