Pre-Con Deep Dive Workshop Charter Board Summit

DD4

Deep-Dive workshops are 5-hour pre-conference workshops on Monday March 18 that allow for long-format conversations and programming. These are only open to CCSA members. Because space is limited, advanced sign-ups are required. Tickets are $75 and include lunch.

This long-format session brings together leading governance, finance and legal experts to provide a best practice and compliance professional development intensive for charter school board members and leaders. In partnership with Young Minney & Corr and ExED, the Board Summit will cover understanding the role of a charter school board, board member responsibilities, including understanding transparency and public accountability laws such as the Brown Act, Public Records Act, Political Reform Act, as well as duties related to financial oversight, fraud prevention and internal controls, and audits. Since authorizers may deny charter renewals for “substantial fiscal and governance factors”, these topics are more important than ever to ensure that your school can continue to serve its students. **This session is limited to charter school board members at CCSA member schools and the school leaders who support them. **
