James McGrath, J.D., M.A., is the Founding Director of IVA High dedicated to equipping its students to think critically, creatively, and with a capacity for self-growth. He is also a former finance attorney representing many of the nation's largest banks and consulting with K-12 schools to navigate their funding needs. He spends his weekends coaching little league, and can't help but to sprinkle in some Moneyball strategies.James J. McGrath, J.D., M.A., is a financial attorney with a focus on the Employee Retention Credit, having advised schools across 27 states. Mr. McGrath is also the Founding Director of IVA High, which equips students to think well: critically, creatively, and with a capacity for self-growth. His education background includes work as a high school teacher, charter school board officer, and college faculty member. He earned his undergraduate degree from U.C. Berkeley, a Master’s in Philosophy of Education at U.C. Irvine, and a J.D. from UCLA School of Law.

Michael Williams has been an attorney for a decade, and has practiced in front of the IRS for a dozen years. His prior experience includes two stints as CFO, as well as a role as a senior attorney at Ernst & Young. He also founded and operated one of the first low income taxpayer clinics in Los Angeles for five years, which provided representation to underserved populations in the city. He has earned his J.D. at University of Connecticut School of Law, with a Concentration in Tax.
