Prior to joining PCSD, Jennifer served as the Chief Client Services Officer at CSMC, working in as a consultant CFO for charter schools and in business development. She has 15+ years of charter school financial management experience. She also has 25+ years of finance experience at several non-profit lenders and Harris Bank. She served as the Board President and Board Treasurer for Community Learning Center Schools, a Charter Management Organization in Alameda, and on the audit committee for the national non-profit Bread for the World. She obtained her Masters in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago.

Rich began his career as a teacher in NYC, where he developed a passion for teaching and learning. Rich then served as a principal in Denver, Colorado, where his school showed some of the strongest growth and performance in the state for African American and Latinx students. He then served as Chief Academic Officer for a charter school network in the Dallas region and helped grow a system serving 20,000 students. Five years ago, Rich moved to the Bay Area to join Lighthouse Community Public Schools to lead transformative work in the East Oakland community.

Richard Berliner has over 35 years of experience in the architectural profession, most of which has been focused on the creation of innovative learning environments through collaboration with educational entrepreneurs. Richard assists charter schools in realizing their visions for innovative pedagogy and curriculum by designing learning environments that support and enhance the teacher and student experience. He helps schools understand how to meet the code, functional and spatial requirements to create the learning spaces they need in the most cost effective way possible. Berliner Architects has completed over 10 new schools and over 20 renovations and adaptive reuse projects.
