Renewal Realities: Navigating Charter Renewals in 2026 and Beyond

Charter renewals are more complex than ever and shaped by local context. This session grounds attendees in renewal law and timelines, then goes further to focus on real-world trends, risks, and strategies from the field. Learn from cases where authorizers cited substantial fiscal or governance factors, and gain insight for responding if they push MOUs or renewal benchmarks outside AB 1505’s framework. Our panel includes recently renewed schools, attorneys, and a current Advisory Commission on Charter Schools (ACCS) Commissioner. Leave with practical tools to strengthen your next renewal.
