Independent Study Compliance: Advice from Lawyers and Auditors
This session is a crash course on independent study compliance. Attendees will learn updates to independent study laws during the last four years, including Assembly Bills 130, 167, 181, 176 and Senate 153. Attendees will learn what auditors look for and evaluate regarding independent study programs for the 2025-26 school year, options for documentation of each of the requirements, and how to protect against loss of ADA. Additionally, learn how to avoid audit findings and the loss of state funding based on failure to comply with independent study laws.
