Student Pitch Competition
In this event, California charter high school students create, submit, and present original business and social venture concepts. Join us Wed. February 25th from 3:30-4:30pm to hear finalist student teams present their business plan pitches on stage and answer questions from a panel of judges. The winning first and second place teams will receive a cash prize ($1500 first place, $500 second place). Winners will be announced during the Exhibitor Scoop 4:30-5:15pm in the Exhibit Hall.

The Wonderful Company
Daniela DeLaurentis (Dani) is the Senior Vice President of Education and
Philanthropy at The Wonderful Company. She oversees programs that
directly serve over 5,000 students in California's Central Valley, corporate
and Resnick Foundation giving, and several unique corporate philanthropy
programs. In addition, she runs the Marketing team for Wonderful’s Corporate Social Responsibility efforts – particularly focused on Health and
Wellness and Education in the Central Valley. She provides a unique perspective, combining her CPG marketing background for popular brands
like Food Should Taste Good and Spindrift with an insider’s understanding
of philanthropy and the education system – having spent several years as a school social worker as a LCSW. Dani has a BA from Connecticut College and a MSW with a clinical concentration in children, youth and families from the Boston College Graduate School of Social Work.

Sam Cheng is a designer, founder, and student, studying at the University of Southern California’s Iovine and Young Academy. Coming from a design thinking background, Sam has a strong focus on user-centered design and real-world products. Sam is currently working on Classmate (classmate.app), an AI powered writing tool used by schools across the country to help hundreds of students get useful writing feedback.

Will Kizer is a filmmaker and student at the Loyola Marymount University School of Film and Television. Grounded in design thinking, he approaches storytelling through creative problem-solving and systems-based thinking. He is collaborating on Classmate (classmate.app), an AI-powered writing platform designed to help students and schools use AI as a tool for meaningful, constructive feedback.
