Diploma Equity: Navigating California’s New Alt Pathway to Diploma
Goal: Empower participants with statutory and practical implementation information about California’s new Alternative Pathway to a High School Diploma for Students Who are Eligible for the Alt Assessments. Expected Learning Outcomes: Review guiding legislation and statutory requirements for Alt Pathways. Provide resources to support site/IEP teams, and families in understanding and implementing the Alt Pathway for all eligible students. Learn which team members in districts, schools, and outside organizations are critical in planning and implementation.

Kristin Wright is the Executive Director of Equity, Diversity, Early Intervention, and Support Services at Sacramento County Office of Education. Wright previously served as the California State Director of Special Education at the California Department of Education (CDE). Before CDE, she served as the Education Policy Advisor for Special Education, Homeless, and Foster Youth at the California State Board of Education and also as a member of the Legislative Staff at the California State Assembly.
