Conflict Management Solutions for Educators & Administrators

This session equips administrators and educators with the skills to effectively address and resolve common conflicts. Participants will explore various conflict types, learn to identify early warning signs, and understand how human behavior impacts conflict escalation. They will gain practical strategies to de-escalate situations and promote effective communication among staff and students. By enhancing their conflict resolution skills, participants will foster a safer, more cooperative atmosphere in schools, contributing to long-term conflict management and a positive, collaborative learning environment.

John Wilson is the Instruction and Curriculum Direct for KSL, Inc. As a former sergeant in a major California law enforcement agency, he led a crisis intervention training unit. He is Advanced Peace Officer Standards and Training certified. His diverse experience includes street patrol, investigations, and police academy instruction. He holds multiple certifications, including Drug Recognition Expert (DRE), homicide investigator, and crime scene investigator. Before law enforcement, John worked with at-risk youth and served as a seasonal US Forest Service Wildland Firefighter. A U.S. Army veteran, he currently serves as a Chaplain's Assistant and Military Emergency Management Specialist.
