Effective Transitions: High School Proficiency and Equivalency Programs
Attendees will gain a better understanding of the California Proficiency Program (CPP) and the High School Equivalency (HSE) Program, their differences, and how they are interconnected. There will be opportunities for the audience to interact with the presenters through Q&A sessions, group discussions, and networking. Information shared will be valuable to educators, counselors, principals, and superintendents. Attendees will receive current information on the CPP and the HSE, including links to study materials, guidance on applying for testing accommodations, and available options for students after passing the CPP and HSE.

Bernadine (Bernie) Holman is the lead Education Programs Consultant for the High School Equivalency programs in the Proficiency, Equivalency, and Fitness Office at the California Department of Education (CDE). Bernie joined the CDE in 2001 and has gained the expertise of effectively serving the public and enjoys her continuous collaboration with colleagues in the field. Holding a Master of Arts Degree in Professional Development, Bernie considers herself to be a life-long learner, advisor, and advocate for all.
