This session will discuss ways Artificial Intelligence (AI) can support charter school financial operations. We will also discuss risks associated with using AI and important guidelines for charter school staff. This is intended to be a discussion-based session in which the presenters and audience share their ideas and experiences using AI to gain essential efficiencies.

Her decision to go to law school stemmed from a deep conviction that a great education is crucial in shaping a person’s life and that encouraging education reform is a noble and personally meaningful charge.

Prior to joining ExED in 2010, Samira worked for the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) as a Program and Policy Development Advisor in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer. Previously, she was Chief of Staff to LAUSD Board Member Marlene Canter. Samira also served as a Senior Policy Analyst in the Office of Mayor Richard Riordan. Samira holds a bachelor’s degree in ethnic studies from the University of California, Berkeley and a master’s degree in public policy from USC.

Tait Anderson is ExED's CFO/COO. He has worked there for twelve years and oversees ExED’s use of technology to provide better access to information and improve operational efficiencies. Prior to joining ExED, Mr. Anderson was an Executive Director with Laureate Education, where he managed their teacher continuing education business unit and market research team. He has also worked in management consulting at Deloitte Consulting. Mr. Anderson earned an M.B.A. from the Anderson School at UCLA and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Carleton College.
