A supportive space for disaster-impacted charter school leaders and their peers who want to lend support. This session offers an opportunity to share experiences, connect with others facing similar challenges, and explore strategies for recovery and resilience. Join us to find encouragement, exchange ideas, and rebuild strength together as a compassionate and understanding community.

Achieve Charter School of Paradise Inc.
Casey Taylor is the founder and Executive Director of Achieve Charter Schools of Paradise. After the 2018 Paradise Camp Fire, Casey led her team in reopening schools in temporary facilities in Chico, while building a permanent school facility there. In the 2021-22 school year, Achieve opened Achieve Charter School of Chico at the new facility and reopened Achieve Charter School of Paradise at the original campus in Paradise. She and her team are now working to reopen Achieve Charter High School in Paradise in the coming years.

CORE Butte
In 2005 Mary began working at CORE Butte Charter School, a public personalized learning school in Chico, Ca. During her tenure, Mary developed and opened a College Model high school program and in 2016 she became the Superintendent/ Executive Director. In 2018 CORE Butte lost one of its resource centers to the devastating Camp Fire. During this time Mary worked closely with schools impacted by this event and supported all charter schools in Paradise to reopen to students. Mary currently works closely with groups across the nation to coordinate disaster relief and actively serves on many committees to support schools.
