Kate Goedeker, an innovative educator with 20 years of experience across Chicago, Honolulu, and Oakland, has dedicated her career to educational equity and excellence for all students. As founding school leader of Oakland Unity Middle School, she partnered with the community to achieve remarkable results—outperforming state proficiency averages while ensuring growth across all student groups, with ELA scores 18 points and math scores 37 points above typical growth—through an approach that balances rigorous expectations with comprehensive support. Kate's leadership in innovative staffing models, creative flexibility in education, and growing teachers demonstrates the impact of investing deeply in both academics and school culture. Holding a B.A. in Political Science from Loyola University Chicago and an M.A. in Education from Chaminade University of Honolulu, Kate collaborates with diverse communities to create inclusive learning environments where all students thrive.
